We’re proud to share an exciting new partnership between Black Sheep Collective and Milton Keynes City Council, bringing creative, inclusive opportunities to children and young people through the EHCP+ programme.

This collaboration is all about opening doors—creating safe, engaging spaces where young people with additional needs can build confidence, develop skills, and feel a true sense of belonging in their community.

What is EHCP+?

EHCP+ is the refreshed Short Breaks programme designed for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). It introduces structured, drop-off sessionsthat focus on:

  • Building independence
  • Encouraging social interaction
  • Developing confidence
  • Creating meaningful inclusion in community settings

The programme reflects the vision set out in the Short Breaks Statement—ensuring young people have access to enriching, supportive activities beyond the home.

EHCP+ has been carefully shaped through:

  • Parent and carer feedback
  • Ongoing engagement with working groups
  • Insights from the SEND Review and Belonging Strategy
  • Growing demand for more structured, supportive activities

Who Can Access EHCP+?

EHCP+ is available to:

  • Children and young people aged 4 to 19
  • Those with a current EHCP

This age range ensures activities are tailored to key developmental stages, where structured independence-building can have the greatest impact.
