Castlethorpe Under 10’s girls to be precise.

The Black Sheep Collective has been a sponsor of Castlethorpe Under 10’s girls football team for the past two seasons. Their coach, Gary Hobbs, has a few words to say about this wonderful team of young people.

“FC Castlethorpe Youth is an FA Charter Standard Club providing opportunities for local boys and girls to play football in North West Milton Keynes. We started the team so girls could have equal opportunities to be able to play football, which is something they all enjoy.

The smiles on their faces say it all!

We have a strong connection with Tottenham Hotspur ladies player Ashleigh Neville who often comes up to watch the girls. In our first season, we won the Bedfordshire FA plate competition, which, in the face of stiff competition was an amazing win for us.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup in France last year caught the imagination of girls everywhere and is inspiring them to give it a go. A number of the girls in our U10’s team were part of the FA Wildcats programme so it is great to see them progress to playing other teams from around Milton Keynes.

We are really grateful to the Black Sheep Collective for their sponsorship package for our new under 10’s girls team. This generous funding alongside a ‘Grow the Game’ grant from The Football Foundation/FA will help us give these girls the opportunity to play football.”

Thank you, Gary! We’re thrilled to be sponsors and look forward to more of the team’s success in 2021!

Until next time,
Sian Philpott
